International Beatles Week runs each summer in Liverpool at the iconic Cavern Club. Fab Four fans come from all over the world to take part, so Merseyrail, Liverpool’s public MTR service, wanted to encourage them to get there using the tram. Happily for me, the Beatles have something of a back catalogue. Tying specific lyrics to the idea that no-one in their right mind should be driving around Liverpool city centre at the height of festival season, the campaign runs across billboards and metro wallspace in the run up to the festival.
